Varanasi/Bhubaneswar: At a time when inoculation of a major portion of the country’s population has become a challenge for the Government of India due to absence of enough quantity of vaccine, a research carried out by the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Uttar Pradesh has kindled hope to tide over the problem.

As per BHU researchers, single dose of Covid vaccine is enough for Covid recovered patients.
In case of recovered people, antibodies develop in the first week of taking the first dose of Covid vaccine.

Whereas, 90% of non-infected persons were having antibodies after three-four weeks of vaccination.

BHU Zoology Department’s Prof Gyaneshwer Chaubey said, “By giving single-dose to the recovered people we can overcome vaccine shortage. We have also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard.”
