Six held for gangraping woman in Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: As many as six persons have been arrested for allegedly gangraping a woman and looting valuables at Gotidhara under Brahmani Tarang police limits in Odisha’s Rourkela city.

While another accused was still absconding, efforts were on by police to trace and nab him, police sources said.

As per a complaint lodged by the victim with Brahmani Tarang police, seven miscreants with an intention of loot barged into a house inside which she was sleeping on February 23. The woman, whose husband is the caretaker of the house, was sleeping on the first floor of the house while her spouse was sleeping on the ground floor.

The looters threatened the woman’s husband and later raped the victim. They also looted items worth lakhs from the house before fleeing the spot.
