Six Odisha cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers have been promoted to the rank of Union Secretary today.

As per a notification, Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan has been promoted to Union secretary rank.

Other officers who have been promoted are: Arun Panda, Ashok Dalwai, Upendra Prasad Singh, Surendra Nath Tripathi and Vipin K Saxena. The 1984 batch officer Panda is presently serving as additional secretary in Health and Family Welfare department. Similarly, Dalwai is now additional secretary in Union Ministry of Agriculture; Singh is now DG National Mission for Clean Ganga; Tripathi is now Development Commissioner in MSME department in Delhi; Saxena is now Member Board of Revenue, Odisha.
