Six polling officials suspended in Odisha

Bargarh: Taking action against erring officials for dereliction of duty, Bargarh Collector today suspended six officials.

Based on inquiry report following EVM glitch allegations by the voters during polls yesterday, the district administration placed three presiding officers and three sector officers under suspension.

The suspended officials were Ratam Sethi, the presiding officer of booth number 115; Pradeep Pradhan, the sector officer of booth number 116; Umashankar Panigrahi, booth number 68 presiding officer; Manoranjan Panigrahi, booth number 68 sector officer; Priyabrat Sahoo, booth number 235 presiding officer and Prashant Sethi, the sector officer of booth number 235.

Notably, Bargarh had headed to the polls yesterday in second phase of elections 2019. The glitches in Electronic Voting Machines were reported during the polls at Ward Number 6 under Bargarh Municipality.
