Skill test for driving license will begin from Sept 18 in Odisha

Cuttack: The State Transport Authority (STA) today said driving license skill test will commence from September 18, 2020. The slot booking for driving license skill test will be available from 11 AM on September 14.

In a notification, the Transport Commissioner-cum-Chairman of the STA stated test slots will be opened for booking from 7 AM to 10 PM every day from September 15 onwards. The applicants were advised to book their favourite slot at 7 AM every day.

Only existing DL applicants can book slots for DL skill test. The DL renewal with retest will be allowed. Applicants with symptomatic sign of COVID-19 are not allowed for the test.

The notification asked the applicants to wear masks and follow the social distancing norms at the testing centre/office.

The applicants from Containment Zone will not be allowed for any test. In case, any such applicant tries to enter in DL test centre or office, the matter will be informed to the local Police. Applicants are advised not to bring their friends and relatives with them to the test Centre/office.

In case of emergent situation due to Covid pandemic leading to shutdown of the office, the test may be cancelled at short notice.

The resumption of Learner’s License (LL) test will be notified later, the notification added.
Similarly, the application for new LL & new DL will be notified later.

The STA asked applicants not to visit the RTO offices for any enquiry regarding LL & DL.

The LL expiring from 18.03.2020 to 31.12.2020 will remain valid till 31.12.2020. The slots booked for DL test and LL test have been cancelled w.e.f 18.03.2020, the notification said.

The fees already paid for the DL/LL test will remain valid.

In view of the then prevailing situation due to COVID-19 pandemic, the DL and LL services were suspended on March 25, 2020.
