‘Small hydro power projects to help Odisha face environmental changes better’

Bhubaneswar: The District Mineral Fund (DMF) is meant for people and the money will be spent for the benefit of them, said Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here.

While inaugurating the 24-MW Baitarani Small Hydro Power Project at Singhanali in Keonjhar district through video conferencing, Patnaik said the project is a milestone in green and renewable energy sector. He stated such small energy projects will help Odisha tackle the environment changes well.

Hyderabad-based Baitarani Power Project Private Limited commissioned the hydro power project and will provide 100 million units electricity to the State Grid.

The Chief Minister added steps are being taken to uplift all the roads in Keonjhar district. Besides, work on establishment of the medical college and hospital in Keonjhar district is on.

Skill Development and Technical Education Premananda Nayak, Energy Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra, the Keonjhar MP and local MLAs and senior officials were present during the virtual inaugural ceremony.
