Snapdeal to sell Odisha handlooms, handicrafts

Leading e-commerce portal Snapdeal has teamed up with Odisha’s Utkalika and Boyanika to sell authentic handicrafts and handlooms to a wide range of customers across the country.

“We are proud to have an affiliation with Odisha government. Our target is to take the products of these craftsmen to consumers living in more than 5000 towns in the country,” said Senior Vice President of Snapdeal Vishal Chadha.

Among Boyanika products available in Snapdeal, there are select sarees, Bomkei silk sarees, Berhampuri silk sarees, sambalpuri sarees and other silk products. Among Utkalika products there are various home decor products and traditional jewellery.

“We are proud of the affiliation with Snapdeal that will give a boost to the handicraft of Odisha,” said Chithra Arumugam, Secretary of Handloom, Textiles & Handicraft Department.

While Boyanika is a brand of primary weaver’s cooperative societies of Odisha, Utkalika is a brand of Odisha State Cooperative Handicraft Corporation.
