SOG jawan killed in grenade explosion during training in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a freak mishap, a jawan of Special Operations Group (SOG) was killed and two others were injured during a grenade hurling training session at SOG training camp in Chandaka today afternoon.

As per reports, the practice of lobbying live grenades as per the anti extremist and tactics course was going on under the supervision SOG Havildar and trainer Prakash Sahu at the SOG training centre.

Unfortunately one grenade exploded in the mid-air causing grievous injuries to the Havildar Sahu and minor injuries to two cadet sergeants. All of them were shifted to a private hospital, Bhubaneswar immediately.

Havildar Sahu succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital. The condition of others two cadet sergeants is stable.

DGP Abhaya expressed his condolences on this sad incident.
