Son of a daily wage labor realises his dream of becoming a doctor, gets admission into SCB, Cuttack

In a remote village of Odisha, Surendra dreamt of becoming a doctor while working with his father in the fields. The dream was big and not so easy as his father is a daily wage labor and family hardly survives on his income. Getting medical coaching and books was out of question for him. But, he overcame all the hurdles in his way and achieved tremendous success in NEET 2021 and secured rank of 3434 in the state. His hard work paid off and he is now studying in prestigious SCB Medical College, Cuttack.

Talking about his struggles with poverty, he said, “Getting a square meal every day is a dream for our family. We hardly survive on the income of my father. To help him out, I also used to work with him in the fields to get some extra income. But I never gave up. And for me Ajay Sir came a guiding light in my life. I was selected in Zindagi Foundation run by Ajay sir and got all the facilities like medical coaching, study material, food and lodging absolutely free of cost. Zindagi Foundation changed my life.”
