Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha turned into a cauldron today as heat wave condition intensified across the state.
Sonepur sizzled at 45.6°C as it recorded the highest temperature of the day in the state. It was followed by Jharsuguda with 45.4°C and Bolangir at 45.3°C.
Capital city Bhubaneswar also experienced blistering heat wave as it registered highest temperature of 44.6°C.

The Meteorological Centre here has issued heat wave warning for several districts for tomorrow.
"Heat wave to severe heat wave condition very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Angul, Sambalpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Khurda," the Meteorological Centre said and issued Orange Warning for these districts.
Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj, it said and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.
The Meteorological Centre forecasted that there will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during the next 4 days at many places over the districts of Odisha. It is likely to be above normal by 4-7°C at a few places over the districts of Odisha during the next 4 days.
