Soro bus mishap: CM announces ex-gratia for families of deceased

Bhubaneswar: While expressing sorrow over the loss of six lives in a bus accident in Soro of Balasore district, Chief Minister declared payment of an ex-gratia to families of the deceased.

As per a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Patnaik announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh to families of each person who died in the bus accident.

Also, he directed officials to provide best treatment to the injured in the mishap. Patnaik wished speedy recovery of the injured.

Earlier in the day, a bus en route Bhubaneswar from Udala met with an accident on NH-16 at Bidu Chhak in Soro of Balasore district. Six people died while over 10 others were critically injured in the mishap.

The injured have been admitted to Soro hospital and Balasore district headquarters hospital (DHH).
