Southwest monsoon withdraws from Odisha: IMD

The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from Odisha, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said here today.

Regional Director of IMD centre Sarat Chandra Sahu said that southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the state. There would be no significant change in the temperature in coastal areas and the temperature would be almost same in interior parts of the state, he said.

The weather condition would be dry in the next few days and the clear sky would help further drop in night temperature, he added.

The withdrawal line of southwest monsoon continue to pass through Forbesganj, Bankura, Angul, Jagdalpur, Ramagundam, Ahmadnagar, Mumbai, Lat. 19.0°N/Long. 70.0°E and 19.0°N/Long. 60.0°E, IMD bulletin said.

As per the IMD bulletin, eight districts— Nuapara, Balangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh— had witnessed complete monsoon withdrawal. Similarly, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Angul, Keonjhar Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Boudh districts had witnessed partial withdrawal. Now, the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from remaining parts of the state.
