Speeding truck crushes student to death in Odisha town

In a tragic incident a 16-year-old girl was run over by a speeding truck in Odisha’s district headquarters town of Kendrapara today.

The speeding vehicle apparently lost control and crushed the girl who was a student of the Tulashi Women’s College under its wheels near the busy junction in front of the college, police said.

Angry girl students of the college set fire to tyres and blocked the road in front of the college after the mishap. The agitating students demanded measures for traffic control on roads passing through areas where schools, colleges and educational institutions are located to prevent such accidents from occurring.
