Spice Jet to resume Hyderabad flight from Jharsuguda airport in Odisha

The airlines was earlier providing the service but had stalled it for a few months after a directive from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The services resumed after Spice Jet once again submitted a proposal in this regard. 

Jharsuguda: In what could be good news for regional connectivity in Odisha, Spice Jet will once again resume flight services to Hyderabad from Jharsuguda’s Veer Surendra Sai Airport. The air connectivity will start from January 20.

The airlines was earlier providing the service but had stalled it for a few months after a directive from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. The services resumed after Spice Jet once again submitted a proposal in this regard.

As per reports, there will be flight connectivity between Jharsuguda and Hyderabad during day time from January 20 to March 15. From March 16, the flight service will be during evening hours, sources said.

Spice Jet was previously providing air connectivity from Jharsuguda to Delhi while Alliance Air was providing flight service from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar and Kolkata. Veer Surendra Sai Airport, also called Jharsugua Airport, has been providing regional connectivity to neighbouring states and commuters to Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand have been depending on it since long. It is among 58 airports across the country which have been included in the Krishi Udan 2.0 scheme.
