Bhubaneswar: As 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' is all set to hit theatres across India on December 16, excitement among Marvel fans in the city has reached its peak with overwhelming response towards advance ticket booking.
Seats for all opening day shows at major cinema halls and multiplexes here have either been sold out or were getting booked quickly. Even as tickets of the movie for multiplexes went online for advance booking late last night, most of those got sold like hot cakes within a span of several minutes.
The New Yorker web-slinger will swing across the Temple City from early morning on Day One.
The first show for 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' in the city is scheduled as early as 5:40 am at Maharaja Picture Palace. No prizes for guessing, the show has been sold out despite the winter season.
The earliest timing of a movie show in a day in Bhubaneswar was 6:00 AM for 'Avengers: Endgame' in April, 2019.
Speaking to Sambad English, Lingaraj Panda, Manager, Maharaja Picture Palace said, "Keeping in view the response of fans towards the advance ticket booking, we added an early morning show for 5:40 am on the opening day. It was sold out, just like other shows."
"As the cinema hall is located near the Utkal University, we give priority to the preference of students and youths. They love superhero movies," he said.
"We also ensure adherence to COVID-19 protocols like social distancing and wearing of masks at the cinema hall. Moreover, we have installed six air purifier machines at the hall for additional safety," he added.
The movie will release in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages in India.
With the return of villains Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Sandman, Lizard and Electro from past Spider-Man movies in the film, speculations are rife that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are very likely to reprise Spider-Man roles from their respective cinematic universes.
"I am quite excited to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield on the big screen. It will be quite nostalgic to see the two returning as Spider-Man. Besides, watching the villains of past Spider-Man movies in action is indeed a treat," said Umesh Chandra Naag, a fan.
