Sprint queen Dutee Chand wants to join politics?

Bhubaneswar: Sprint queen Dutee Chand, who has excelled at national and international levels in her forte, has evinced interest to join politics.

In her Twitter handle, the athlete said that it has been her childhood wish to join politics.

“I always wanted to join politics since childhood. “My family has also been involved in grassroots politics, with my mother being the Sarpanch of our village,” she tweeted.

Dutee, considered as the fastest woman of the country, aims at reaching the finals of the women’s 100m dash at World Championships starting in Doha on September 27 with a personal best timing. She will leave for Doha on September 25.

Worth mentioning, Dutee had failed to reach semifinals in the last edition of the event in London in 2017.  She became the first Indian to win a 100m gold in a global event during the World University Games in July.

Earlier, the sprinter had hogged headlines after she confessed about her same sex relationship.
