Spurious gutkha seized in Odisha capital, two arrested

Bhubaneswar, Mar 9:

Khandagiri police today seized spurious gutkha (chewing tobacco) worth about Rs 5 lakh from Baramunda area and arrested two persons in this connection.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ashok Pahadi of East Midnapore district of neighbouring West Bengal and Abhimanyu Behera of Ranpur area of Nayagarh district.

Acting on a tip-off that spurious gutkha was being smuggled to Berhampur in five big sacks from Kharagpur in neighbouring West Bengal Khandagiri police conducted a surprise raid in Baramunda area leading to the seizure and the arrests.
