Spurious tobacco manufacturing unit busted in Odisha, 4 held

Jajpur: The district police today busted a spurious tobacco manufacturing unit at Bidyadharpur village in Badachana area and arrested as many as four persons in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off about the adulteration, a police team led by Jajpur DSP Deepak Kumar raided the place this morning. Huge cache of spurious tobacco, packaging materials bearing labels of various brands and equipment were seized from the spot.

The accused were allegedly involved in selling the spurious products in the region after packing those with labels of different brands. The estimated cost of the seized tobacco is worth several lakhs of rupees, police sources said.
