Spurious tobacco manufacturing unit busted in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: The Twin City Commissionerate Police today busted a spurious tobacco manufacturing unit at Sasol village under Cuttack Sadar police limits and arrested a person in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off about the adulteration, a team of Cuttack Sadar police raided the spot and seized spurious zarda, packaging materials bearing logos of various brands, and chemicals used in producing fake tobacco.

The manufacturing unit was operating at a house in the village since 2007. Further investigation by police was underway to ascertain the sources of the raw materials.
