Srikant Jena to attend Kejriwal’s meeting in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Expelled Congress leader Srikant Jena will attend Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s public meeting scheduled on Jan 31 in Odisha.

“I will attend Kejriwal’s meeting on Jan 31 in Bhubaneswar,” informed Jena here today.

He said that he will not join any political party or contest the elections.

“However, I will campaign for the candidates backed by the Samajik Nyay Abhiyan,” Jena said.

Although the former union minister is yet to take a final decision about the future course of action after being shown the exit door from Congress, his presence in AAP’s meeting may create a new equation in Odisha politics in the upcoming elections.

Notably, the Delhi CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to visit Odisha on Jan 31.

“He will address a public meeting at 2.00 pm at Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar. The AAP workers, as well as the members of Srikant Jena-led Samajik Nyay Abhiyan that is organising the programme, will be present at the event,” said State unit of AAP Convenor Nishikant Mohapatra.

Worth mentioning, Jena was sacked from the grand old party Congress on January 19 on charges of anti-party activities. After expulsion, he has been targeting the Odisha Congress chief Niranjan Patnaik as well as AICC President Rahul Gandhi.
