Startup Odisha participates in ICC India Startup Week 2021

Bhubaneswar: Startup Odisha, a flagship initiative of the state Government under the MSME Department, has participated in the ICC India Startup Week, as the State Partner.

The six-day carnival was inaugurated by dignitaries: Ajit Pal Singh, IT Minster, Government of Uttar Pradesh, CN Aahwath Narayanan; Minister of Information Technology and Education, Government of Karnataka;  Deepak Bagla, Managing Director & CEO, Invest India; Satyabrata Sahu,  Principal Secretary, Department of MSME and Chairman, Startup Odisha; and JB Pany, Chairman, ICC Odisha State Council.

MSME Principal Secretary Satyabrata Sahu highlighted how Startup Odisha is playing a pivotal role in development and upliftment of every piece of Odisha’s vibrant startup ecosystem through strategic planning, investment and policies specially designed to uplift the entrepreneurs.  He also spoke about the world class arena of Inclusive Incubators in Bhubaneswar named as O-Hub with state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructural support to accommodate 200 startups will be made functional by November this year.

A total of 55 selected startups from Odisha participated in the pitching session during the India Startup Week.

Besides, the MSME Department organized a meeting with senior bankers for the Startups on October 4. The SLBC meeting was chaired by MSME Department Principal Secretary.

Five Startups namely TFarm from Ganjam, Aranya Paridhi from Angul district, Sattatva from Bargarh, Skyrider from Jatni and  VHN Solar from Bhubaneswar expressed their concern regarding banking finance and hindrances faced in availing business finance/loan from the banks.
These Innovative startups working in EV, Solar Energy and Agriculture sectors interacted with the senior officials on various schemes and sought suggestions for availing business finance.

The MSME  Principal Secretary also urged all the banks to consider the Startups recognized under Startup Odisha policy 2016 while processing any loans/applications and informed key bankers like SBI, PNB and UCO to be considerate while giving financial benefit to young entrepreneurs. The meeting was attended by the senior officials from all nationalized and private banks along with all senior officials of MSME Department.
