States urged to benefit from CIFA research

Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA) Director Dr P Jayasankar has called upon states to take the benefits of research conducted by the Institute over the last 15 years. He was speaking at a two-day workshop on ‘National sensitisation on quality fish seed: Principles Vs practices’ here on Monday

CIFA, in association with the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad, is organising the workshop to sensitise state governments and other stakeholders on the importance of producing and using quality fish seed.

The workshop was inaugurated by former CIFA Director Dr N Sarangi.

A souvenir was also released on the occasion.

Among others, senior executive director of National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) CK Murthy was present.

A total of 35 participants from 19 states including Odisha, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattishgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar are participating in the workshop.
