Stones pelted at stage during Odia comedian Papu Pom Pom’s cultural programme

Berhampur: Some youths allegedly pelted stones at the stage yesterday night during a cultural programme of popular Odia comedian Tatwa Prakash Satpathy aka Papu Pom Pom, which was being organised on the occasion of Mahashivratri at Sorala village under Chikiti block in Ganjam district.

However, the actor had a close shave and he left the stage show in the middle.

According to sources, Papu Pom Pom performed on the stage a few minutes after the cultural programme began, when the incident took place. A digital display was partially damaged in the stone pelting.

“Odia comedian Papu Pom Pom narrowly escaped as a water bottle was thrown at him and the plastic container hit another artiste of the musical troupe instead,” an eyewitness expressed.

The actual cause behind the stone pelting incident has not been ascertained yet.

Besides, no FIR has been lodged with the police in this connection, so far.
