'The Street Store', a first of its kind, unique shopping event for the homeless in Odisha's capital city, being organized by leading FM Radio station Radio Choklate, will take place in front of Hotel New Marrion (opposite Ram Mandir) between 10 AM and 5 PM on September 23, Tuesday, a Radio Choklate release said.
This was originally scheduled for September 21 but had to be shifted to September 23 due to inclement weather conditions, the release added.
Curator of 'The Street Store' Tanaya Patnaik said, "It will be a real store for the homeless, who can choose and pick whatever they like. The idea is to ensure the needy have a dignified shopping experience."
People who are interested in donating new or used dresses, shoes, bedsheets, towels, shorts, caps, blankets, warm clothes and other useful articles for The Street Store may do so at the venue anytime between 10 AM and 5 PM on Spetember 23, she said.
"The idea has struck a positive chord among people and we hope to get a massive response both from donors and would-be beneficiaries, " Ms Patnaik added.
