Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Chhatra Congress president Itish Pradhan who was expelled from the party for anti-party activities was allegedly attacked by party members for misbehaving with them during a protest today.
The student leader suffered injuries in the attack, sources said.
According to sources, the state unit of Youth Congress was protesting against the fuel price hike at Master Canteen earlier in the day. The student leader turned up at the protest spot and started misbehaving with other party leaders.
Following an altercation, the party leaders who had come from Cuttack to join the protest attacked him leaving him injured.
Earlier in June , Congress MLA Suresh Kumar Routray at a press conference had made an announcement regarding Pradhan's expulsion. "Pradhan is no more associated with the party for his anti-party activities," Routray had said.
