Student of Odisha's Ravenshaw varsity alleges ragging by senior

Cuttack: A +3 2nd year Commerce student of Ravenshaw University in Odisha's Cuttack has lodged a ragging complaint with police alleging that one of his seniors thrashed him.

As per an FIR lodged at the Malgodown police station by Siddharth Kumar Agrawal, the complainant, he was beaten by a student of B.Com third year on January 29 night during Saraswati idol immersion procession of a hostel of the varsity.

Reports said, he was forced to dance by the concerned senior during the procession besides being thrashed by the latter who was in an inebriated state.

"Investigation into the matter is underway. We will take action after conducting a probe," said Malgodown IIC Debi Patra.
