Students take lunch at restaurant as mid-day meal stopped in Odisha school

A Block Development Officer (BDO) in Koraput district of Odisha today fed students of a primary school at a restaurant following discontinuation of mid-day meal provided in the institution for last couple of days. According to reports, mid-day meal serving was stopped at Sikima Primary School under Boipariguda block in the district since last three days.

Students of the school today resorted to protest against it and gheraoed office of the BDO.

It may be mentioned here that the villagers had alleged that there have been discrepancies in noon meal programme in the school since last one month.

Protesting against the irregularities, the villagers had locked the main gate of the school.

Taking cognizance of the incident, the BDO ordered an inquiry into the incident and fed the agitating students at a nearby restaurant this after noon.
