Students’ unrest at Bhadrak College over alleged admission irregularities

Bhadrak: Tension ran high on the premises of Bhadrak Autonomous College today when students staged protest alleging irregularities in Plus III admission at the educational institution.

The agitating students locked the main gate of Bhadrak Autonomous College, burnt tyres on the main road and shouted slogans against the college authorities.

They alleged abled students have been taking admissions at the college while submitting certificate issued to persons with disability (PwD). This irregularities resulted in scarcity of seats for students from economically weaker sections wish to take admission in Plus III courses at the college.

An agitating student said faculty members of the college have been facilitating fake PwD certificates to abled students in return of money. Because of this, meritorious students from economically weaker sections are unable to get a seat for admission in Bhadrak Autonomous College.

Till the last report came in, the College Principal and Bhadrak Town Police officials reached the spot and were holing a discussion to resolve the issues.
