Submit list of employees commuting to office during lockdown: CP

Bhubaneswar: Intensifying enforcement to curb congregation and unnecessary movement of vehicles as well public during COVID lockdown and weekend shutdown in Twin City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the Commissionerate Police today directed organisations in emergency and essential services sectors to submit list of their employees.

“Many people with their identity cards are found moving on roads unnecessarily on pretext of visiting their workplaces during lockdown and shutdown. To restrict unnecessary movement of people of essential services sectors, we have asked the companies/organisations exempted from lockdown restrictions to submit the list of their employees engaged during lockdown to DCPs and issue an authorisation letter to those employees clearly mentioning particular dates of their duty,” said Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarsi today.

The office goers will be allowed on showing of their identity cards and authorisation letter at police check posts in Twin City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

He made it clear that no special pass has been issued for any person/organisation for movement on roads during lockdown and weekend shutdown.

However, there are no restrictions on persons visiting the hospitals or COVID vaccination centres for inoculation and testing.
