BHUBANESWAR, July 26
Managing Director of Jindal Synfuels, Subrat Ratho has assumed additional charge as Head of Operation of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL), Odisha, a statement of the company said. Ratho, a 1986 batch IAS officer, took voluntary retirement from Indian Administrative Service in 2012 to join the Jindal group.
The JSPL has set up a 6 MTPA integrated steel project in Angul district while it has planned to set up Coal to Liquid (CTL) project in the district. Jindal Synfuels is developing Naveen Jindal-led firm's ambitious Rs 60,000 crore CTL project in the district, which envisages production of 80,000 barrels of crude oil per day through indirect coal liquefaction technology.
Ratho is a postgraduate in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University and has administrative experience of over 24 years.He was last posted as the principal secretary, Energy in Maharashtra government. He is credited with the feat of establishing a 125 MW solar power project in Maharashtra at a single location, apart from successful execution of a number of big thermal power projects as well as facilitating several wind-power projects by the private sector in Maharashtra.
