Sudarsan appeals for help to Phailin victims

Making a fervent appeal to the people to help the victims of Cyclone Phailin that swept the coastal districts of Odisha two days ago, renowned sand artist of international fame Sudarsan Patnaik on Monday created a sand sculpture at the sea beach here.

“Puri is one of the most affected districts. God has saved us from the ravages of Phailin. But there are over thousands of victims in other cyclone-hit districts who are in dire straits and need urgent help”, Patnaik said.
Patnaik used around 6 tonnes of sand and took 4-5 hours to complete the sculpture.
