Bhubaneswar: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik was selected today to represent India at the international sand sculpture championship, which will be held in St. Petersburg, Russia.

It is one of the most iconic places – Peter and Paul Fortress. The championship will be held from July 4 to July 12, 2024. Twenty-one master sculptors of the world will participate in this championship.

Pattnaik is the sole participant from India. The theme of the championship is History, mythology, and fairy tales. Sand artist Pattnaik will create a Ratha (chariot) and Mahaprabhu (Lord) Jagannath with his devotee and poet Balaram Das, an official source said.
