The Twin City Commissionerate Police this evening issued lookout circulars against Manoj Nayak and his wife Saswati Das in connection with the fire tragedy at Sum Hospital in the Odisha capital on Monday, the death toll of which reached 21 today.
Both Manoj Nayak and his wife Saswati Das are trustees of Siksha 'O' Anusandhan Charitable Trust which runs Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) and Sum Hospital, a constituent institute of Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University (SOA University).
The Commissionerate Police has issued lookout circulars against Manoj Nayak and his wife Saswati Das to nab them, informed Twin City Police Commissioner Y B Khurania.
The Commissionerate Police has written to the Home department to stop both from leaving the country.
“Police is investigating the management and responsibilities aspects of some officials. We have drawn up a special plan for our investigations. The number of arrests may rise,” informed Khurania.
Meanwhile, there are reports of police conducting raids at Nayak’s residence and several places connected with his business and is said to have seized several important documents.
