Several elected representatives, leaders from scheduled tribe communities, intellectuals and senior citizens led by Abraham Gamang sat on a dharna in front of the collector’s office from Tuesday evening. R Udayagiri block Chairman Dasarathi Gamang said the agitation will continue and would be intensified till action is taken against accused government officials.

Sub collector Biswajit Biswal and SDPO Gagarin Mohanty requested those on dharna to withdraw their stir. They told the agitators that the probe was on and the report was with the government and very soon action will be taken. However, this failed to convince the agitators.

Antaryami Gamang, an office bearer of the Mahasangh said the stir will continue till August 28 and a call will be given for Gajapati bandh on September 1 if no action is taken in the matter.
