Sura, Sarathi aides appear before ED

A close aide of Odisha’s self-proclaimed godman Sura Baba alias Surendra Mishra appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) here today.

Manoranjan Acharya, who worked as an accountant for Sura Baba appeared before the ED today.

Sources in the ED said Acharya  was questioned on the source of funds of the ashram run by the godman and investment of it thereafter. He was grilled for over four hours.

The ED also questioned Sisir Khatua, a close aide of another self-proclaimed godman Sarathi Baba alias Santosh Raula.

Sources revealed that the ED quizzed Khatua on the financial affairs of the ashram run by Sarathi at Barimul in Kendrapara. He was grilled for three hours.

Both the self-proclaimed godmen are now in jail after their black deeds were exposed.
