Suspected Maoists thrash villager to death in Odisha’s Kandhamal

Suspected Maoists late on Tuesday night allegedly thrashed to death a villager of Kuaghar village in Odisha’s Kandhamal district after branding him as a police informer.

The killed villager has been identified as Biswambhar Kanhar.

Allegedly, Biswambhar was dragged out of his house late on Tuesday night and was beaten to death by the Maoists.

The Red rebels accused Biswambhar of passing on information to Kandhamal SP Kanwar Vishal Singh about their movements, reports said.

Further, the Maoists accused Biswambhar of taking Rs 50,000 from the police for providing such information before beating him to death, the reports added.
