New Delhi, Jan 5:Â
Acting on the orders of Odisha State Election Commission (SEC) that had imposed a ban on telecast of government funded advertisements in the run up to panchayat polls, Union Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) today assured that it will stop airing the Swachh Bharat advertisements.

Acting on complaints raised by Biju Janata Dal, the SEC had earlier written to the DAVP -- operating under Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry asking it to stop airing the advertisements in television channels of Odisha.
It had cited the moral code of conduct that is in force for the panchayat polls as a justification behind the move.
