Sonepur: The Vigilance officials arrested a Tahsildar in Odisha’s Subarnapur district today for allegedly accepting bribe. The sleuths caught Tarabha Tahsildar Subrat Behera red-handed while accepting Rs 20,000 bribe.
The Tarabha Tahsildar was accepting bribe for land registration.
Based on a complaint filed by one Kanhu Charan Das from Ghatakaintara village under Tarabha block, the sleuths laid a trap and caught the Tahsildar while taking the bribe at his official residence.
Kanhu Charan sold his land in Antarda mouza to one Rabindra Mishra, a resident of Tulunda. The Tahsildar was demanding bribe from Kanhu Charan for land registration.
After the Tahsildar's arrest, he was taken to Sonepur.
