Talcher sizzles at 44 degree as Met predicts further temp rise

Talcher remained the hottest place in Odisha as mercury soared to 44 degree Celsius in the industrial town today.

Temperature levels stood at 40 degree and above in Chandbali (40.9), Bhubaneswar (40.9), Angul (42.1), Jharsuguda (42.5), Keonjhar (40.4), Sambalpur (42.6), Sundargarh (41), Hirakud (42.7), Bhawanipatna (41.5), Titlagarh (41.5), Malkangiri (41) and Sonepur (42.6).

While most parts of the state have been under the grip of the gruelling heat wave for nearly two weeks, the local Met office has said, the heat wave would intensify further with temperature reaching 45 degree at a few places in the next 48 hours.
