Bhubaneswar: Odisha's noted writer and former Chief Secretary Tarun Kanti Mishra will receive the prestigious Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award in Odia language category.
The Sahitya Akademi announced its annual Sahitya Akademi Award-2019 in 23 languages today. Mishra has been selected for the award for 'Bhaswati', a book of short stories penned by him.
The book was selected on the basis of recommendations made by a jury of three members.
The award in the form of a casket containing an engraved copper plaque, a shawl and Rs 1,00,000 will be presented to Mishra at a special function to be held on February 25, 2020 at New Delhi during the Festival of Letters organized by Sahitya Akademi.
