Berhampur: A day after ordering closure of Tata COVID Hospital at Sitalapalli in Berhampur of Ganjam district, the district administration decided to continue functioning of the hospital in view of possible second wave of COVID-19 infections.
In a letter to the CEO of Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital, Ganjam Collector yesterday asked him to continue functioning of the hospital.
“Looking into the second wave of COVID-19 infections, you are hereby requested to continue functioning of the Tata COVID hospital with a provision of 55 ICU beds. All other previous conditions to remain unchanged,” said the Ganjam Collector in his letter.
Earlier on November 18, the district administration had decided to shut operation of Tata COVID Hospital at Sitalapalli with effect from November 30 following decline in COVID-19 cases in the district and asked the management not to admit any new cases at the hospital.
