Tata Sons appoints new members on board

New Delhi, April 1:

Tata Sons Ltd. (TSL), the holding company of the diversified Tata Group, on Wednesday said it has appointed two new members on its board as non-executive independent directors of the company.

The company, in a statement, said Farida Khambata, member of the investment committee of Cartica and former member of the management group of investment firm IFC alongwith former Indian ambassador to the USA, Ronen Sen, have joined the board.

“Khambata is the global strategist of Cartica and a member of its investment committee. Prior to joining Cartica, she was a member of IFC’s management group… she oversaw all equity investments globally and investments specifically in agribusiness, manufacturing and services, and health and education,” the company said.

Sen was India’s ambassador to the US from 2004 to 2009. In the past, he was also deputed in Mexico, Russia and Germany besides serving as the High Commissioner to Britain and Northern Ireland from 2002 to 2004.

“From 1986 to 1991, he was foreign and defence policy advisor to successive prime ministers and had several assignments as special envoy for meetings with heads of state or government. He has participated in about 180 bilateral and multi-lateral summit meetings in six continents,” it said.

Sen also served on the board of Tata Motors Limited as a non-executive independent director from 2010 to 2012. IANS
