Teacher makes school students wash utensils after feast in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: Several students of Durgadevi High School in Kanas block of Odisha’s Puri district washed utensils after allegedly being asked to do so by their teacher following a feast at the educational institution on Tuesday night.

A video of the incident has gone viral on various social media platforms.

As per reports, a district-level science exhibition was organized on the premises of the school, for which a feast was arranged.

As the guests and participants left the venue after the feast, a teacher allegedly took some students of class-9 and class-10 to the bank of Daya river near the school at around 11 pm for the purpose of washing utensils used in the cooking.

The headmaster of the school has apologized over the matter. “The incident took place without my knowledge. As the workers were not present, the help of the students was sought. However, it was wrong to do so,” he said.
