Teachers to intensify strike in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha School College Teachers’ and Employees’ United Forum decided to intensify strike to meet their demands after inter-ministerial meeting remained inconclusive here today.

With ongoing strike by the teachers, around 4,000 schools are running in absence of teachers affecting the education system in the State.

Meanwhile, School and Mass Education Minister Badri Patra asked teachers to withdraw strike and sought three months time to consider their demands.

“We asked the teachers to withdraw stir and give 3-month time to constitute a steering committee to review,” told Patra to media after meeting here.

Notably, the teachers have been agitating at lower PMG in Bhubaneswar since September 5 on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
