Teenage boy drowns in pool while taking swimming lessons in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a teenaged boy drowned in the swimming pool of a posh club, here today.

The deceased has been identified as Sambit Sahu.

According to records, Sambit had gone to recreational facility to take swimming lessons during this summer vacation. The minor boy while practising slipped into deep water and could not return to safety.

He was rescued and rushed to Capital Hospital in an unconscious state, where the doctors declared him dead.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased alleged negligence on part of the club authorities as the mishap took place in spite of the presence of a swimming trainer.
