Teenager’s solo art exhibition in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Budding artist Rajnandini Mohapatra launched her first solo exhibition in Suvadra Art Gallery here today.

The four-day exhibition was inaugurated by Twin City Commissioner of Police Y.B Khurania.

This art exhibition marks the premise of an International Art Fair that is due to take place in the capital city this November that would see both national and international artists participate.

“My paintings are mostly based on abstract thoughts that combines realistic views.  Through this exhibition I would like all the eminent artists to critique and guide me so that it will help me progress in the field of art and showcase my paintings in many national and international level art exhibitions”, said Rajnandini Mohapatra.

Worth mentioning, the 19-year-old has had no formal training in the field of art but has cultivated the taste and honed her skills on her own since she was in school.  Her paintings have been showcased in many national level art exhibitions like the Kalaprabha Exhibition in Chandigarh and Krishin Group Art Exhibition in Delhi. She has also won and her paintings showcased at the KAA- All India Art Competition held in Hyderabad. As a child artist, she has also bagged the first place last year in Shilpi Divas, held every year in Bhubaneswar.

Among others, Rabi Narayan Rath, Former Secretary, Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi and Tarakanta Parida, Secretary, Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi were present on the occasion.
