Tehsil office amin under Vigilance scanner for accepting bribe in Odisha’s Bolangir

Bolangir: A team of Odisha Vigilance sleuths today caught an amin red-handed, while he was accepting a bribe. The accused identified as Sadananda Sahu presently works as a settlement amin in Agalpur tehsil office in Bolangir district.

According to an official source, Sadananda has been apprehended by the Vigilance for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant to process and issue a land Patta (Record of Right) in the latter’s favour in a mutation case, which was registered last year.

Entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of the accused Sahu and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are being conducted at two different locations associated with the amin from disproportionate assets (DA) angle.

A Sambalpur Vigilance PS case (No-5, dated 03.03.2024, under Section 7 of the PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC Amendment Act, 2018) has been registered in this connection.

A detailed probe into the graft charge is underway against accused Sahu, the source added.
