Telengana extends support to Odisha on Polavaram

Bhubaneswar: Telengana government today announced its support to Odisha on the Polavaram issue.

Deputy Chief Minister of Telengana K Srihari made the announcement after meeting Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat here today.

“We are with the Odisha government as far as Polavaram is concerned. We are equally losers in Polavaram. We support the cause of Odisha government as far as Polavaram is concerned,” Srihari told reporters after his detailed discussion over the issue with Patnaik.

However, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has termed Srihari meeting with Patnaik as courtesy call.

Notably, Patnaik has on Wednesday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to allow construction of the Polavaram irrigation project until all pending issues were resolved.
