Bhubaneswar: N. Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will field candidates in the 2019 assembly elections in Odisha, informed Rajesh Putra, party's state in-charge, today.
A primary survey in this regard is underway in 52 assembly constituencies of the state and an announcement will be made soon. The focus of the party will be on Koraput and Ganjam districts as many Telugu people reside there, Putra said.
The party will apprise the voters of Odisha about the developmental activities in Andhra Pradesh. The people of Odisha want development in their state for which the TDP will contest in the upcoming assembly polls, he said.
A particular government has been ruling in Odisha for many years but there are no significant developments in the state, he added.
On the other hand, BJD leader Surjya Narayan Patro said participation of the TDP in the Odisha assembly polls will have no impact.
