Temperature rises unabated as 10 towns cross 40 mark in Odisha

Intense heatwave conditions are taking more towns into its fold as 10 stations in Odisha today recorded above 40 degrees Celsius.

Western Odisha town Bolangir remained at the top of the chart today with 43 degrees Celsius. The other places which recorded above 40 degrees Celsius are: Jharsuguda 42, Angul 41.7, Sambalpur 40.8, Sundargarh 41, Hirakud 41, Talcher 41.5, Bhawanipatna 41.2, Titlagarh 42.5 and Sonepur 40.8

The weather bulletin released by the regional meteorological office here said that there will be no change in the outlook and dry conditions will prevail across the state till Sunday.

Notably, the state government has directed the schools to shift to morning timings and shut the schools by 10.30 am in view of the heatwave conditions prevailing across the state.
